The purpose of this study was to understand the status of adapted physical education, performed by Nantou County's elementary school teachers for children with disabilities, and to discuss their demands and difficulties. This research adopted qualitative research, and interviewed three administrators and four adapted physical education teachers. Research findings were: 1. Most of the Nantou County's elementary schools adopt the mainstream concept, but those teachers showed their dissatisfaction in regard to following this policy. 2. As for adapted physical education, those teachers recognized its value and function for children with disabilities, and also considered they were enthusiastic. But they considered they suffered from a lack of profession about adapted physical education and special education resource, hence the teaching could be difficult. Finally, in order to improve the quality of adapted physical education, the educational authority must provide adequate training to resolve those teachers' concerns.
