The purpose of this research was to explore year 2009 students’ leisure obstacle and leisure satisfaction of leisure participation of National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism and to explore the difference among different background variations of students’ leisure obstacle and leisure satisfaction of leisure participation. The survey instrument was the self-designed the students’ leisure obstacle and leisure satisfaction of leisure participation of National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism questionnaire. There were 450 questionnaires distributed randomly and 421 questionnaires collected. After eliminating invalid questionnaires, researcher has 399 valid questionnaires (94.8%). Dependent samples T-test, ANOVA analysis (one-way ANOVA) for statistical processing. The results of this research have shown that the structural obstacle has the highest impediment among National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism students’ leisure obstacles. The main reasons of the leisure obstacles include insufficient time, money, and friendship. In leisure satisfactions, each element of leisure satisfaction has higher than average point, and relaxation has the highest satisfaction. The primary reasons that students participate leisure activities were to maintain self-health, to alleviate pressure, and to relax our mood. Different background students’ leisure participation, leisure obstacle, and leisure satisfaction have significant difference. This research suggests that health is the key factor that will affect life’s satisfaction. Thus, doing leisure activities regularly is necessary; people not only can improve physiological condition but also can enhance psychological condition, life satisfaction, and self-growth.
