As a key and unique part of Soviet's systems, censorship (цензура) worked effectively in Soviet politics and political culture. It coexisted with the socialist system of USSR and altered to adapt to the domestic and international social environment in different historical periods. In time full of Khrushchev's (Н. С. Хрущев, 1894-1971) color, Soviet censorship experienced great changes and was unlike Stalin's (И. В. Сталин, 1878-1953) and Brezhnev's (Л. И. Брежнев, 1906-1982) time. It reflected both a thaw of early spring and a freeze of extreme cold during that time.
