The purpose of this article is to elucidate the ideation and practice on service learning in Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU). Service learning can promote altruism and community service among students, and facilitate learners' professional knowledge and skills by meeting community needs. Learners can be impacted from the reflection on the service learning experience. Guided reflection is one of the essential processes for service learning and brings meanings for learners. In addition, the practice of service learning in FJCU is deeply rooted in the spirit of the university philosophy. The university is committed to the advancement of humankind, development of caring, and social justice. According to this philosophy, the service learning programs of FJCU is designed to provide five models, including holistic education, academic service learning, integrated development service, volunteer service learning, and linked-in network models.
