自民國76年迄今,來自越南、印尼、泰國、菲律賓、柬埔寨、日本、韓國等的新住民累計五十二萬多人。若因華語文能力不佳導致溝通困難,不僅難以適應臺灣生活,也會影響子女日後的學習。從心理語言學認知學派觀點,學習語文時的圖、文、音等訊息都需經感官系統接收,在大腦作用下理解、吸收,最後將知識與技能輸出,故訊息處理模式(Information-processing model)常是用來解釋第二語言學習歷程的重要理論基礎之一。因此,新住民作為成人華語文學習者,本文認為在成人訊息處理特徵的基礎上,建議新住民華語文教師應擬定具預測性的教學目標、編選具結構化的教材、營造友善的教學環境、實施賦信式的教學過程、以再認式的測驗評量為主,將使其華語文的學習達事半功倍之效。
