With changes of social ethos in Taiwan and the increasing convenience of communication tools and network, more and more people become receptive to one-night stand and sexual hookup. Statistics show that the popularity of one-night stand in Taiwan has been increasing in recent years, but the average age of such people has been decreasing. This research aims at understanding the attitudes of Taiwanese people towards one-night stand, and uses the research tool of Q method that pays equal attention to the quality and explores subjective attitudes and values in order to make up for the disadvantage that the traditional quantitative research of large sample has difficulty in exploring the differences of opinions of interviewees at all levels and to more completely express their subjective idea. According to the comprehensive analysis of Q classification result respecting the interview, the interviewees can be divided into three types: "Emotional Chastity Type," "Erotic Pleasure Type," and "Emotional Ambivalence Type." The correlation comparison unveils that whether the experience of one-night stand exists has higher influence than other background variables on their attitudes. Research suggestions are as follows: 1. The research result reveals that whether the experience of one-night stand exists has larger influence on their attitudes than other background variables. The interviewees of Emotional Ambivalence Type who has this experience have the largest proportion. It is supposed to explore the relationship between whether the experience of one-night stand exists and their attitudes. 2. During the interview, it is found that misunderstanding exists in sexual knowledge of many interviewees. The following aspects should be focused to explain, e.g, explanation on "Sexual Liberation," issue of extramarital sex, knowledge of safe sex, ways of seeking sex are highly risky. Furthermore, we can increase emotional education so that the public's opinions on correct emotional values will be improved. 3. Recommendations for research method: (1) In order to obtain more detailed classification, subsequent researches can focus on single aspect; (2) Researches on widely believed sensitive or private issues can consider network testing and interview or site testing, network (telephone) interview to avoid invalid interview result; (3) For the same significance of factor loading on number of types (the number of people classified is the same), if the explained variance is close, the smaller number of types is adopted; if the variance is large, the larger number of types is adopted.
