本研究之主要目的在比較犯罪青少年與一般青少年在刺激尋求與社會技巧各因素上的差異，及性別與犯罪與否在刺激尋求與社會技巧總分上的不同情形；分析犯罪青少年刺激尋求與社會技巧的高低程度對活動類型、偏差行為的作用，並探討高低刺激尋求與社會技巧不同組別之犯罪青少年在處過期間的班級社會行為與四育成績表現上的差異情形；最後，並分析犯罪青少年刺激尋求與社會技巧評量結果的因素結構。 本研究以犯罪青少年160人 (男生110人，女生50人) 作為研究對象，另有隨機取樣的一般青少年164人 (男生112人，女生52人) 作為對照組。經施以「刺激尋求量表」、「社會技巧評量表」、「活動經驗調查表」(含偏差行為量表)、「班級社會行為量表」，並加以統計分析之後，獲得下列各項重要發現： (一)、犯罪青少年在「經驗需求」與「反抑制」刺激尋求因素上的得分，顯著高於一般青少年。犯罪女性青少年的刺激尋求總分顯著的高於一般女性青少年。 (二)、犯罪青少年在三個社會技巧因素上的反應較一般青少年為差。一般青少年的整體社會技巧優於犯罪青少年。 (三)、高、低刺激尋求組別的犯罪青少年在新奇、冒險等68個活動經驗上，共31個項目有顯著差異，且二組犯罪青少年的偏差行為有顯著不同；但高、低社會技巧組別的犯罪青少年則只有6個活動經驗項目有所不同。 (四)、犯罪青少年不因刺激尋求與社會技巧高低的不同，而在處遇期間的班級社會行為與四育成績表現上有所不同。 (五)、犯罪青少年的刺激尋求評量反應共獲得六個因素，社會技巧評量反應共獲得五個因素。

The purposes of the study were to compare sensation seeking and social skills of juvenile delinquents with those of non-juvenile delinquents, analyze the effects of sensation seeking and social skills on patterns of activities and deviate behaviors of juvenile delinquents, and explore related factors which influenced the performance of juvenile delinquents in institutional treatment. Subjects including 164 non-juvenile delinquents and 160 juvenile delinquents were administered by Sensation Seeking Scale, Social Skills Scale, Activities Inventory, and Classroom Social Behavior Inventory. The main findings were presented as follows: 1). Juvenile delinquents showed more experiences seeking and disinhibition than those of non-juvenile delinquents examined by Sensation Seeking Scale. 2). Juvenile delinquents had worse social skills than those of non-juvenile delinquents. 3). The high and low sensation seekers of juvenile delinquents had different activities on 31 items of Activities Inventory. 4). There were no differences on performance in institutional treatment between high and low sensation seeking and social skills of juvenile delinquents. 5). Depending on the data of juvenile delinquents, six factors in Sensation Seeking Scale and five factors in Social Skills Scale were found. Finally, some suggestions were made according to the findings.
