本研究目的是改編與效化吳靜吉、葉玉珠於1992年所修訂「康乃爾批判思考測驗甲式」，期望研究成果更適合國內小學高年級學生批判思考能力評鑑使用。本測驗的研究對象包括台北、高雄兩院轄市以及新竹、台中、嘉義與台南等省轄市及一般縣市所屬學校，總共有十四縣市46所小學，總計五年級2,172人及六年級2,301人，共4,473人。研究改編後的「康乃爾批判思考測驗甲式」共有30題，其信度達.70。本研究除效化「康乃爾批判思考測驗甲式」之改編版外，並探討性別、年級、城鄉、學業成就、與家長社經背景與批判思考的相關。研究發現國內國小五、六年級學童的批判思考能力與性別無顯著性差異（t = 1.60, p＞ .05），但年級、城鄉、學業成就、與家長的社經背景的差異均達統計上顯著水準。
The purpose of this study is to revise and to process the validity about Cornell Critical Thinking Test Level I rewritten by Wu and Ye (1992). The reason for the revising comes from the culture difference and the usage fitness about the students’ grade. This completed test is expected to be used for the instructional diagnose, educational evaluation and research.There are 4473 samples, 5th and 6th graders belong to 49 elementary schools, chosen from Taipei City, Kaohsiung City, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chiayi, and Tainan. Thirty items, Cronbach α .70, are included in revised test. Besides, the relationships between critical thinking ability and sex, the grade, town level, academic achievement and parents’ economic were also explored in this study. The result shows that there are statically significant relationships between students’ critical thinking abilities and their grades, town level, academic achievement, and parents’ economics; And no statically significant relationship exists between student’ critical thinking ability and sex.
