The main purpose of this survey were to investigate the learning interest, need and influencing factors of conducting nursing research of clinical nurses. The self-designed questionnaire were used for data collection from Mar. 6, 1995 to Mar. 15, 1995. A total of 650 questionnaires were distributed . However, only 513 valid questionnaires were used for data analysis. The results indicated that promoting nursing professional image, enhancing research ability, and gaining research experience were three main interests in learning research. The most research - related learning needs were: having a instructor and searching & organizing literature data. The results of stepwise regression showed that “the program of nursing research in hospital”, “education level”, and “research experience” were significant predictors of learning interested “attended nursing research program in hospital”, “age”, and “education level” were three significant predicting factors of learning need of this group of nurses.
