This study was an attempt to apply and examine core model by exploring the leisure participation styles of LinKou national community residents in Taiwan. 222 residents were stratified and randomly sampled during July to September, 1995. Core model was well fitted these data of 194 effective samples, according to the results of t-test and one-way ANOVA. Referring to core model, individuals' leisure participation styles are consisted of two parts, which are named core and distinguished leisure participation. the contents of core and distinguished leisure participation were found respectively. The core leisure participation is similar to other social groups. the distinguished activities are affected by the resident's personal characteristics and the recreation opportunities around living area. Based upon the residents' leisure participation styles, some implications and suggestions were proposed for community managers and researchers.
