The purpose of this paper is to clarify the many-dimensional nature of curriculum integration with regard to the types of curriculum organization and the degree to which disciplinary boundaries are released. The author attempts to reconceptualize curriculum integration by reviewing several approaches to curriculum integration with emphasis on their epistemological positions and integration patterns. The many dimensions of curriculum integration include single-discipline integration, multidisciplinary integration, interdisciplinary integration and transdisciplinary integration. Also, several criteria are suggested to evaluate the appropriateness and the feasibility of curriculum integration in question.
