本研究是以Dunlap & Van Liere 的新環境觀(NEP)量表以及Maloney的負責任環境行為(REB)意願量表，測量271位師院新生的環境觀及採取負責任環境行為之意願，並探討環境觀和採取負責任環境行為意願間之關係。此外，本研究也以該資料再度檢驗NEP量表的信度和效度。研究發現，師院新生對NEP支持度頗高，採取REB意願也頗高。以NEP量表總分、性別及系別為自變項，對REB量表總分進行回歸分析，發現自變項對依變項有影響。握持新環境觀越強烈者，採取負責任環境行為意願也越高；女性採取負責任環境行為之意願比男性高。對NEP量表進行內部一致性信度考驗，得到該量表的Alpha值為.79。將學生填答資料進行主成分分析，經最大變異量轉軸得到三個共同因素，三個因素可解釋全體變異量之57.97%。本研究結果可以提供師資培訓單位利用NEP量表來評估師院生的環境觀，以作為實施環境教育的參考；且師院新生採取REB的意願頗高，教育單位應當提供給他們產生環境行為的機會。NEP量表經過一再地考驗，顯示該量表有高度的穩定，適合為研究工具使用，但因多數研究對象多為師院生或教師，因此建議針對其他對象加以研究。

　　　　　The main purpose of this study was to determine environmental worldview and the intent on responsible environmental behavior of freshmen in a Teachers' College. Another purpose was to re-estimate the validity and reliability of the Chinese version New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) Scale. In this study, the sample of 271 freshmen in a Teachers' College was asked to respond the 12 items NEP Scale and the 10 items Responsible Environmental Behavior (REB) Scale. The result indicated that the freshmen expressed a high level in environmental worldview as assessed by the NEP Scale. They also expressed a high intent on taking responsible environmental behavior as assessed by the REB Scale. Freshmen who hold higher scores in NEP scale were also expressed higher intent in REB scale. Based on the data generated from this sample, the coefficient alpha, adjusted item-total correlations were computed. The NEP Scale has a Cronbach's Alpha of .79 ; the adjusted item-total correlations of these items were between .26 to .53. When the data were submitted to a principle component analysis, 3 factors emerged. The 3 factors could account for 57.97% of the total variance of the scale. Based on this determination and the previous information provided by the original developer and other researchers, the scale is recommendable for assessing college students' environmental worldview. The researcher also recommended the use of the NEP Scale to assess environmental view of other groups.
