Disciplinarily speaking, ‘Sociological Theory’ is essentially equal to ‘Sociology,’ at least equal to the essential and condensed version of ‘Sociology,’ and both two by nature belong to the contemporarily so-called ‘Social Theory.’Retrieving the descendent relationship of modes of thinking, ‘Sociological Theory’ is originally a kind of ‘Academic Social Thought,’ hence it is in fact a family member of the thoughts which are studied by ‘History of Social Thought.’ Similarly, ‘History of Social Thought’ is in fact merely the mode of thinking of historical consciousness which appears in the modern period, hence it is originally a degenerate of the noble form of ancient ‘Political Philosophy.’
