The purpose of the study was to examine the construct validity and internal reliability of the Chinese-version Self-Presentation in an Exercise Questionnaire (SPEQ) by Conroy, Motl, & Hall. Subjects were 248 aerobic class students, fitness club members, college students and other exercisers. The questionnaire was structured by factor analysis and item analysis, the outcome showed that the scale was composed by "self-presentational motivation" and "selfpresentational construction", which accounted for 50.31 % of the total variance. The study found: (l)SPEQ had acceptable construct validity after deleting one item. (2) The coefficients of Cronbachαin two sub-scale were .77 and .82. In summary, there were acceptable reliability and validity in the Chinese-version SPEQ.
