The purpose of this study was to explore the related factors and current situations of implementation in the health and physical education area of the 9-year joint curricula in elementary school teachers. The questionnaires developed by the author were administered to 408 samples in elementary school teachers of health and physical education area in Chiayi and Yunlin. The valid samples were 314, and the valid return rate was 77%. The results of this study are as follows. First, at the current situations of curricular implementation, the mean of teaching competence dimension was higher than other dimensions. The teachers of physical education departments were significantly better than those in the general departments of the whole current situations. The teachers of 11 to 20 teaching years were better than those under five years of teaching on the dimension of professional spirits. There was no significant difference in current situations between both genders and among varied sizes of schools. Second, in the related factors areas, the degree of matching up on the teacher factor was better than other factors. The males were significantly better than the females on the teacher factor. The teachers of 11 to 20 teaching years were better than the teachers under five years of teaching years on the factor of teacher itself. The teachers of physical education departments were significantly better than those in the general departments on the factor of teacher itself. Third, there was significant correlation between all the related factors and all the current situations. The teacher factor was the most important factor of curriculum implementation in the health and physical education area of the 9-year joint curricula.
