本研究主要在瞭解教育指標、經濟指標與政治指標之關聯性。本研究運用了初等教育在學率、中等教育在學率及高等教育在學率,做為教育指標。以民權、政權與民主指標做為政治指標;以國民所得為經濟指標。本研究提出五個虛無假設,所得到的結果是:第一以教育為自變項,政治為依變項,進行迴分析發現,教育指標對政治指標都有顯著性的影響。第二,以教育指標、經濟指標與政治指標等進行國家發展分類,如以六個指標分類,可將113個國家區分為高度、中度及低度發展國家,這些國家數各為12、15及86個,這樣的分類,經區別分析準確度達百分之百。同時以斯皮爾曼等級相關進行檢定,亦有.477以上的關聯度。在六個指標的分類中,台灣被分類為中度發展國家。第三,如果以教育及經濟為潛在變項,對政治潛在變項進行因果模式的檢定,這樣的模式是獲得證實具有因果關係。針對前述研究結果,提出相關建議。
