Impression management, the process by which people control the impressions others form of them, can have a great impact on interpersonal relationships. College teachers can attract the attentions of students, and improve their learning outcomes by making good use of impression management strategies. This study identified strategies and tactics of impression management used by teaching-excellence teachers. This study was conducted by a qualitative method and was analyzed by Nvivo 7 software. The result showed that; a) teaching-excellence teachers hold negative views of impression management; b) the usage of impression management strategies by teaching-excellence teachers include ingratiation, self-promotion, intimidation, exemplification and personal charisma.
