印象管理係指個體有意或無意地影響、控制別人對自己形成印象的過程。適當的印象管理有助於個體與他人建立良好的人際關係,甚至吸引他人的關注,進而拉近彼此之間的距離。因此,大學教師若能善用教學印象管理策略,將有助於吸引學生的目光與學習的專注,直接或間接的提升學生們的學習動機與成效。本研究即是從以印象管理的角度,針對科技大學教師並曾經榮獲兩次以上教學優良的教師們,以深度訪談法探討這些受肯定的老師們在教學上、個人形像上、以及與學生互動方面,是否會有意無意的運用了印象管理策略,來吸引學生的目光,進而提升學生的上課興趣與成效。研究目的為 (一) 大學教學優良教師對於個人運用印象管理策略於教學上的知覺或認知;(二)分析與整理大學教學優良教師教學印象管理的策略。本研究採用質化研究電腦輔助分析軟體NVivo7 分析訪談資料,研究結果發現 (一) 大學優良教學教師對於運用印象管理於教學方面,普遍抱持消極與負面的看法;(二) 大學優良教學教師普遍運用五大印象管理策略,包括逢迎、自我推銷、模範、脅迫以及個人魅力策略。
Impression management, the process by which people control the impressions others form of them, can have a great impact on interpersonal relationships. College teachers can attract the attentions of students, and improve their learning outcomes by making good use of impression management strategies. This study identified strategies and tactics of impression management used by teaching-excellence teachers. This study was conducted by a qualitative method and was analyzed by Nvivo 7 software. The result showed that; a) teaching-excellence teachers hold negative views of impression management; b) the usage of impression management strategies by teaching-excellence teachers include ingratiation, self-promotion, intimidation, exemplification and personal charisma.
