Lately, researchers have utilized diverse theoretical perspectives to examine women's leisure .Henderson's "one size doesn't fit all" principle has been applied to women from diverse life situations. This paper intends to investigate the results and trend of women's leisure research, targeting articles published in major Chinese leisure journals from 1984-2008, such as the Chinese Electronic Periodical Services and Chinese Electronic Theses & Dissertations Service. The study examined 41 articles to discover emerging themes, method used, and the implications from the themes. The results revealed seven themes and phenomena: (1) leisure and space, (2) family leisure, (3) leisure constraints and negotiation, (4) leisure and well-being, (5) gender equity in leisure, (6) Experiences and concernment of leisure, (7) Academic research. Two conclusions were drawn: (1) Diverse study methods have been the trend of women's leisure research, although qualitative methods are mainstream, combining qualitative methods attracts more attention. (2) Still, the ultimate goal of women's leisure research is to achieve social justice and social change. Recommendations for future research and practice have been constraints.
