The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between body image and dietary behavior among students of college dance departments. This study used survey method, targets at the students enrolled at college dance department in the school year from Sept. 2005 to June 2006. There were 609 effective samples. The questionnaire consists of three sections: Personal Background Survey, Multiple Body-Self Relation Questionnaire, and Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire. Statistical analysis used in the study included descriptive statistical, indepedent-samples t test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe' method. Pearson's product-moment correlation, and multiple regression. The major findings of this study are as follows: (1) The body images and dietary behavior of the subjects tends slightly towards positive. (2) There were significant differences between body image, dietary behavior and personal background factors. (3) Body image of ”appearance orientation” and ”weight evaluation” was significantly and positively correlated with dietary behavior. Ill addition, body image of ”health evaluation” and ”body-area satisfaction” as significantly and negatively correlated with dietary behavior. (4) The personal background factors and body image of the subjects significantly predict dietary behavior.
