The purpose of this study is to explore the importance and performance of setting attributes of bike path in Kaohsiung by IPA analysis (Important-Performance Analysis, IPA). Data were collected on-site from bikers of Love river line and the West side harbor line by convenience sampling during March to August, 2010. Totally 348 valid questionnaires were received. The research results revealed: the top three important attributes that respondents perceived were: ”paths separated from other vehicles”, ”paths with sufficient directing signs”, and ”smooth paving with asphalt”. The top three satisfied attributes were: ”the natural landscapes alongside the path”, ”paths separated from other vehicles”, and ”paths with various landscapes alongside”. According to the results, the attributes needed to be improved in prior were: ”paths with thorough signpost”, ”a broader width of the path” as well as ”supplies and services alongside the path”. Finally, managerial suggestions including, ”providing DIY supply service”, ”setting indicator boards at the crossroads” and ”promoting the idea of pedestrian and vehicle separation” were made by the researchers to enhance the contribution of this study.
