The main purpose of this study focuses on investigating the relationships between gender equality awareness of college students and their parental rearing patterns. Survey research was conducted, and a total of 630 valid sample data were collected through MySurvey Internet questionnaire system in a university of northern Taiwan. After the data were collected, the Statistics software of SPSS was utilized to analyze various hypothesized relationships. The gender equality awareness concept was further divided into four sub-dimensions in the research, and they are "gender stereotypes," "gender bias," "gender roles" and "gender identity." The significant differences were found between male and female students under all four categories, and in general women have better gender equality consciousness than men. Moreover, parental rearing styles are positively correlated to students’ gender equality awareness. According to the regression analysis, parental rearing style was also found as a significant predictor for a student’s gender equality awareness.
