This is a single, longitudinal, and qualitative case study research to understand how network development facilitates diversification strategy leading to performance growth. We use Unity Opto Technology Company, a Taiwanese LED package company, as the research setting. This company is a unique case focusing on niche market to successfully create value. Specifically, its outstanding network development conducing to diversification strategy can offer practical contribution for high-tech businesses. In addition, this research proposes the three types of network, i.e., dependent, functional, symbiotic networks, to elaborate on the relationship between network development and diversification strategy. Consequently, this study not only expands the explanation of network theory but provides a new perspective of how network development helps diversification strategy and thereby brings about high performance.
