In elderly welfare organisations, service of social worker is a pivotal item in the evaluation for the elderly welfare organisations. However, there is rare discussion on the viewpoint of social worker. This research focuses on the stance of social workers to analyse the advantages and disadvantages of the evaluation for the elderly welfare organisations. In addition, we also explore the role of social workers in the process of the evaluation for the elderly welfare organisations. Finally, we project to show probable contributions of social workers in the evaluation for the elderly welfare organisations. For achieving above goals, this research adopts qualitative research approach to interview several licensed social workers. The findings include: first, some items of the evaluation are not specific for judging the abilities of social workers. Moreover, these items are more likely to judge the form of service in the process rather than the profession of social workers. In the evaluation, there is less qualitative information to show the service quality of social workers. Finally, the clients and their families cannot participate in the process of evaluation and they are difficult to be empowered by social workers through the process of evaluation. In conclusion, to build up a ”clientcentered” evaluation system in which clients and their families' opinions are considered is a probable way to promote the service quality in the elderly welfare organisations, as well as advancing the profession of social workers.
