484 junior high school students were investigated on their perceptual difference between the extent of importance and satisfaction of mother's roles on the "Mother's Roles Ouestionnaire". The results show that : (1) children's perceptual difference between the extent of importance and satisfaction of mother's roles was negative (that is satisfactory extent of mother's roles was lower than important extent of mother's roles; (2) children's perceptual difference between the extent of importance and satisfaction of five areas of mother's roles not only were negative, but also different; (3) sex of the child had significant influence on children's perceptual difference between extent of importance and satisfaction of mother's roles when mothers employed; (4)mother employed or not had significant influence on daughter's perceptual difference between the extent of importance and satisfaction of mother's roles. The findings of this study suggests that: (1) mothers ought to do their best on mother's roles performance; (2) mothers perform mother's roles should do expressive roles at first; (3) employed mothers should pay more attention to their daughters when they perform mother's roles.
