297 senior high school students and 298 elementary school students were investigated on their perception of six mother's roles on the Mother's Role Questionnaire", The results show that: (1) children's perceptions of the six important mother's roles were different; (2)variables such as mother employed or not, and sex of the child had significant influence on children's perception of mother's roles; (3) age variable was found not significant on children's perception of mother's roles. The findings of this study suggest that: (1) to be succesful in mother's roles should decide which thing is more important than the other and do it first; (2) the employed mothers should spend more time to be with their children so as to understand them better; (3) mothers, not employed, should pay more attention on how to cultivate harmonious family relationship; (4) mothers should establish adequate model of mother's roles for their boys and girls; (5) no negliance of motherhood would be allowed even their children were grown up.
