　　　　　馬克思對資本主義生產方式的分析有三點值得論者借用來探討資本主義電腦化的趨勢。第一，電腦科技應用於資本主義生產，不但維持機器支配勞工與勞動分割散裂的結構、加強資本累積的動力，造就可拋棄的產業後備軍，形成失業問，更維持解除技能的動力。第二，電腦科技運用於生產，進一步強化資本家的監管力量，工作場所變成生產的監控圈。第三，電腦應用在生產與流通的領域，強化了商品化的程度；生產與消費之間的聯繫也因電腦應用而越來越緊密，對馬克思的危機理論是一大挑戰。馬克思的階級鬥爭理論也未因電腦化而有充分實現的跡象。不過，電腦應用促成的資訊拜物教顯示；馬克思的商品拜物教概念，仍可供學者參考，進而探討資本主義電腦化的相關意識型態。
