The Anban site is located to the south of the Anban village in Fufeng county,Shaanxi Province.The site is situated on the losses terrace adjacent to the conjunction of the Wei River and Meiyang River.The Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology and the School of Cultural Heritage of Northwest University conducted a salvage excavation at the southwestern part of the site from August to December,2012.Two house foundations,one moat,71 ash pits,and 4 kilns were unearthed.All large amount of ceramic,stone,and bone artifacts were found during the excavation.Archaeological remains found from the site represented the Miaodigou type and Late Banpo type of the Yangshao culture,as wellas Early Longshan culture.
