縱觀宋代修史機構的整個演變過程,元豐改制前、元祐更化時期以及南宋初期,均屬盡力繼承與恢復唐、五代修史體制的時期,而在元豐改制后的絕大多數時期,則是新建修史體制日益完善的時期。與此同時,在各修史機構正常運轉與適時變動中,無論是修史職能發揮,還是史官選任與調配,甚至是史籍編修等,均取得了較顯著成效。

A research on the change of historiographers’ offices in the Song Dynasty could reveal that the institution followed the tradition of Tang and Five Dynasties before the Reform of Emperor Shen,and in the age of the Restoration of Emperor Zhe and the early South Song Dynasty,while a new institution was being perfected in the most time after the Reform of Emperor Shen. At the same time,the function of the offices being developed,the selection and redeployment of historical officers and the compilation of historical records achieved remarkable results with the change of offices.
