Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between daily student incivility and daily teacher burnout and establish the student incivility measure.
In this study,200 effective questionnaires with 1990 observations across 10 working days were collected by testing samples of 230 elementary school teachers. Hierarchical Linear Model of the Diary Method was used to analyze the longitudinal data which contain intra and inter levels.
The findings of this study are as follows:
1. To establish the student incivility measure.
2. The teachers with different background variables (school size, gender, age, Marital status, Level of education, job tenure, job position Position, Perceived health status) are no statistically significant differences in teacher’s daily burnout.
3. Psychological capital of teachers is negatively related to teacher’s daily burnout.
4. Daily incivility by students is positively related to teacher’s daily burnout.
Based on the findings, the researcher provide important theoretical and practical implications.
Keywords: incivility、burnout、diary method、Hierarchical Linear Model
