法國思想家傅柯（Michel Foucault）在一次訪問中曾明自表示「空間」的確是他偏執的觀念。本文將由此出發，透過「空間」的概念，提供解讀傅柯的一種線索。
文中首先指出傳柯對傳統史學重視「時間」而輕「空間」的批評，並申論傅柯歷史研究的基礎就在於反直線整體論。而以空間優位的概念顛覆傳統史學家的時間優位性。
其次，在傅柯的考古學或系譜學兩個方法論階段，也都可以看到空間的意合，例如論述分析、放棄本源，以及戰場和策略等隱喻，皆是基於對空間概念的偏好而發展的。
最後將指出傅柯對歷史關聯性的關注，目的就在於更準確的分析歷史發展中各場域的權力關係及權力機制，社會無數的空間與建築，正是權力最細緻的部署，這也是理解傅柯生命權力理論的重要關鍵。

　　　　　Once in an interview in 1976, Michel Foucault said that"space" had indeed been obsession for him. But as an importantkeyword of Foucault's thoughts, "space" seemed not get enoughattentions. This paper is to explore that "space" appeared as a keyconcept on Focault's methodology and the analysis of power. First, it is argued that Foucault used space, instead of time,to be the key concept to interpret the history. Foucault criticizedthe traditional historicist who constructed a lineal and holistic viewof history based on the assumption of the "temporal continuity",What he strived to do was "bring the space back to history". Secondly, whether on archaeology or genealogy, Foucault'smethodology is full of the implication of space. There were manyideas apparantly derived from the notion of space, like discourseanalysis, the dismiss of origins, and the metaphor of war, etc. Finally, it's argued that through the concern of the spatialrelevance, Foucault was able to analysis "power" and its mecha-nism in many fields. The "space" to be the mechanism of the bio-power would be explored on the final part of this paper.
