The 2018 Nobel Prize winner Olga Tokarczuk is one of the most influential novelists in contemporary Poland. Nobel Prize winner Svetlana Alexievich considers her as "a magnificent writer". She adopts a unique magical perspective to build a collage of Polish history and reality, trying to cross historical, cultural and psychological boundaries, and seeking the roots and meanings of the self. Analyzing the boundaries and boundary crossing, history and nostalgia, space and time in her work, this article explores the concerns and values in Tokarczuk’s writings.
