在國際民俗學界,"實踐"首先是指普通民眾的日常生活行為;"實踐民俗學"則是對民眾日常生活實踐的復雜性與豐富性的深入理解與闡釋,甚至是對庸常的日常生活實踐的理解與容忍。在抱持一種面向共同的美好生活理想的前提下,實踐民俗學有責任在準確地理解民眾的實踐邏輯之后,把普通民眾未加反思的常識提升到系統地反思與批判的哲學層次上來。

In the field of international folkloristics,practice first refers to the daily life behavior of ordinary people."Practical Folkloristics"should first face the daily life of ordinary people,deeply understand the complexity and richness of people’s daily life practice,even understand and tolerate the intolerable and boredom of seemingly absurd daily life practice and hold an ideal premise for a common good life.Folklore scholars have the responsibility to upgrade the common people’s unreflective knowledge to the philosophical level of systematic reflection and criticism after accurately understanding the practical logic of the people.
