Family incidents are usually involved with family's privacy. Due to the nature of family incidents with non-rationality and liquidity, the party's intention often changes with emotional volatility, unlike property relations that can understand the meaning of the parties to determine. It will only increase the antagonism between the parties and decrease its effectiveness if the family cases are uniformly proposed by a general suit procedure. Accordingly, family mediation is a very important approach to resolve family disputes in family justice system. However, if domestic violence has occurred, the perpetrator may not cooperate with the victim. Under offender's oppressing, victim is sometimes difficult to own the free choice right and makes concessions unfavorable to her or himself. Not all cases exist such relation of unequal right, so not all domestic violence cases can not be mediated. Rather, it needs more comprehensive mediation system to handle such incidents properly. This study surveys court mediation committee members through questionnaire to collect the necessary data. In order to increase the effectiveness of mediation, this study finds that committee members should receive more professional education to have a more clear understanding of the nature of such cases. Additionally, environmental arrangement and design is also critical to the effectiveness of mediation. Committee members should be provided the well-set mediation procedure to follow, but provision of a secure environment is equally important.
