本篇文章討論排灣族語的北排方言親屬詞「爸爸」，本文指出二種稱呼「爸爸」的詞kama（爸爸／兒子）和tama（你爸爸），它們各有不同的語意及用法。經由仔細的分析後，我們可以清楚區分二者在類型和語意之間的差異。在附件中更提供了其他和kama 用法相似的親屬詞，包括kina 媽媽／女兒、vuvu 祖父母／兒孫、kaka 兄姊／弟妹的差異。

The present paper discusses the word for ‘father’ in the Northern dialect of Paiwan. It shows that there are different terms for father (kamavs. tam a) and even different meanings (‘father’ vs. ‘son’). The distinctions between form and meaning can only be addressed if the distribution of this term is carefully examined. The appendix provides further examples on other kinship terms that behave (nearly) like kama including: mother/daughter, grandparent/grandchild, elder/younger sibling.
