Design in itself is service. Design begins with people; by reflecting on the product and perfecting the process of innovation and development, design satisfies the need of people and increases the value of product or service. Designers bridge the consumer and manufacturer: a good design brings product to the market and benefits the manufacturer and user alike. With the transformation of economic structure, design needs to satisfy the inner desire of consumers to get a head start in the competitive market. In this trend, the experience economy stimulates the development of the service design. This study will examine some cases of recent trend of learning the wood crafts and attempt to explore some new possibilities of innovative business in the field of non-profit organization. It is our belief that this new line of development might provide new directions for the transformation of traditional wood crafts industry.
