It was the intention of this study to analyze each of the explored topics in a single parent's group. Study was so constructed, in comparison with consistency between planned goals and actual processing topics, as to understand whether the group design were proper or not and, whether the group design were processing in an effective situation. The result of this study were used to be the criterions of designing a single parent group and deciding of measuring variables. Subjects were those of self-referral volunteered from Chunghua city. As a result, five of them were received ten-week group counseling. Method used in this study was qualitative in nature, with the method of open coding to analyze each explored topic. The results of this study were as follows: 1.The Topics of Group Topics members concerned about in ten sessions were classified as 21 categories. They were: knowing each other, introducing oneself to others, discussing the way group processed, discussing burden of roles, interaction with espouse, reasons for divorce, relationships between espouse and children, communication between parents and children, relationships between parents and children, attitude and ways of rearing children, behavior problems of children, belongings of children right of guardian and issues about taking care of children, children's view-points toward divorce, family's view-points and attitude toward divorce, divorce and related lawsuit, influence of divorce, view-points toward divorce, marriage and extramarital affairs, remarriage, belief, value, philosophy of life, emotion disturbance, life worry, helping from the group, talking and sharing about things out of group, knowledge and experience. 2.Comparison of each category According to the frequency of occurrence (from high to low), topics were emotion disturbance, communication between parents and children, relationships between parent and children, behavior problems of children, influence of divorce. All of these topics focused on children, indicting that members concerned about their adjustment as well as childrens'. 3.Topics of each session The topics of the 1st session focused on knowing each other, introducing oneself, attitude and ways of rearing children. The 2nd session focused on discussing emotion disturbance, life trouble and ways of group progressing. The main topics in the 3rd session were: communication between parents and children, relationships between parent and children. The 4th session's were communication between parents and children, relationships between parent and children, attitude and ways of rearing children. The 5th session focused on attitude and ways of rearing children, reasons for divorce. The 6th session's were reasons for divorce, emotion disturbance, life worry. Emotion disturbance, life worry, divorce and related lawsuit were the main topics of the 7th session. Belief, value, philosophy of life, attitude and ways of rearing children, behavior problems of children, emotion disturbance, life worry, helping from the group were discussed in the 8th session. The main topics of the 9th session were behavior problems of children, emotion disturbance, life worry. And how group help oneself was discussed in the 10th session. 4.Comparing group stage with topics During the initial stage, topics focused on knowing each other, introducing oneself to others, discussing the way group processed, discussing burden of roles, interaction with espouse, communication between parents and children, relationships between parents and children, attitude and ways of rearing children, influence of divorce ,view-points toward divorce, marriage and extra-marital affairs, emotion disturbance, life worry. Members main topics focused on discussing burden of roles, interaction with espouse, reasons for divorce, attitude and ways of rearing children, behavior problems of children, belongings of children right of guardian and issued about taking care of children, divorce and related lawsuit, influence of divorce, view-points toward divorce, marriage and extra-marital affairs, remarriage, emotion disturbance, life worry, sharing about knowledge and experience during the middle stage. And communication between parents and children, relationships between parents and children, attitude and ways of rearing children, behavior problems of children, extra-marital affairs, remarriage, belief, value, philosophy of life, emotion disturbance, life worry, helping from the group were discussed during the ending stage. 5.Comparing planned goals with actual topics Comparing the topics analyzed from group process with planned goals the leader setted before group, the result showed they were quite similar. But a few of them were not consistent. For example: the leader hope to expand members activities and interest, but they were seldom mentioned about. During the group sessions, some topics which were not predictive were found, like discussing burden of roles, helping from the group, sharing about knowledge and experience. Besides, talking about things from outside of group was non-effective communication between members. But its frequencey is low during entire stages, so researcher just estimate the group was progressing effectively. Results were discussed and suggestions for future study and guidance practice were presented.
