With the end of the sixth national assessment and grading of public libraries,Chinese public libraries have entered the post-evaluation era. The prominent features of the post-evaluation era could be summarized as new environment, big career and high standard. This paper expounds the strategic priorities and development directions for public libraries in the post-evaluation era from seven aspects. First, public libraries should manage and develop themselves according to laws, and take measures to improve their level of legalization. Second, they should pay more attention to service innovation as well as the feedback of service brands. Third, they should shift from construction performance orientation to service outcome orientation. Fourth, they should try to realize the better integration and transformation of space and resource. Fifth, they should attach more importance to the application of modern technologies and turn themselves into smart libraries. Sixth, they should formulate a scenario to work out library development strategies for the coming 14th Five-year Plan. Seventh, they should nurture a new generation of librarians and form a unified organizational culture.
