  身心障礙者有關生涯發展與職業教育的服務與規劃,近年來於美國受到相當大的關切與重視。尤其,隨著美國於1997 年四月重新簽署通過「身心障礙個人教育法修正案」(IDEA 1997)以及時身心障礙者「1998年職業復健法修正案」重新公佈並納編於「勞動力投資法案」,特殊教育生涯與職業教育的發展也即將進入一項新的紀元。同時也使得身心障礙者轉銜階段的生涯職業相關問題,儼然地成為現今美國特殊教育界中的研究重點。受此發展趨勢與潮流的影響,身心障礙者轉銜階段之「職業教育課程之規劃與銜接」有胡的探討與研究,也有愈來愈增加的趨勢。尤其,日前隨著融合理念、常態化、自我擁護、自我決策的倡導,以及法令的強制規定與保障,加以生涯規劃與輔導觀點的引進,身心障礙學生的生涯發展與職業轉銜教育也已成為美國特殊教育的重點工作。因此本文擬就轉銜服務的觀點,探討身心障礙者職業教育的涵義,職業教育之作法與其相關法案,以及揭櫫身心障礙者生涯職業教育之評量方式與轉銜服務之實務作法,以供改革發展我國轉銜特殊教育之參考。
