Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is an interdisciplinary field in which research interest is focused on a variety of ways of interaction between users and computers. The aim of the research is to build a user-centered information system. This paper is concerned with the design issues of the HCI area, rather than the engineering and sociological aspects. In addition to the "User-centered Design," this paper also discusses the issues of usability and design principles. While a great deal of HCI research is now turning to the Internet-related areas, the authors claim that the research must be focused on the integration of design consideration and technological development, in order to achieve a more meaningful outcome.
