Shall We Dance? was an American film in 2004. The play implied a kind of spirit of resistance. It was revised from the film Everybody Dance played by Kohzi Yakusho as the leading role, and the film won ten awards form the Japanese Film Institute in 1996. The film focused on searching for life's passion. The tonality of the film had a slightly bantering atmosphere in seriousness, although popular, was also with sketch style. The themes of many films related with sport dance emphasized on wakefulness, aroused the life-force, even a kind of subversion, or a kind of spirit of resistance. The rhythm of body seemed to shake the normal rules and tradition. The film not only depicted middle-aged people's various effects in the sport dance learning, but also reflected the echo of motivation when general people participated in sport dance.
