The purpose of this research is to evaluate the architectural design concept of Japanese architecture master Tadao Ando from the theoretical perspectives of Habitual Domains (HD) and Metalogy. This research employs literature analysis from historical documents, books, and papers about Tado Ando. Computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software NVivo 10 is applied to process and analyze four phases of data. There are two major findings for this study. Firstly, Architecture Master Tadao Ando's design concept fits best of the theoretical concepts of Habitual Domains and Metalogy. Secondly, Tadao Ando used both of the brightly attitude in HD and “beauty" thinking in Metalogy. Further study was recommended to investigate and analyze both the eastern and western architectural concept and design, and compare the differences between them to suggest other innovative thinking and multidisciplinary approach in architectural industry.
