Throughout his life, Loa Ho witnessed nearly 50 years of colonial rule by the Taiwan Government-General. Though he saw little recognition due to the values of society during his lifetime, Lao Ho's literature became representative of his era, winning widespread acclaim. He was also known as Taiwan's Mazu for his acts of kindness. The research in this paper is based upon existing research by preceding experts and scholars. New information from the Temporary Intelligence Department of Taiwan Government-General is also used to uncover the challenges, which Loa Ho encountered during his era, and his valuable contributions to literature for future generations.
