Different from the previous oceanic poets, Wang Qijiang transcends the emotional writing such as looking out along the seashore, and describing the oceanic scenes to express the inner feeling of the poet, which is the profound or rather the ultimate writing of the oceanic experiences and the psychic discourse and spiritual construction of the oceanic life mainly with a touch of archetypal symbols. The writing attempts of identity conflicts, daily and trivial themes, and linguistic fragmentization intensify the metaphoric characteristics and artistic pursuit of the work.
