In this study, the recreation specialization theory is applied to the classification of the family campers. In addition, this study researched whether there were any differences on personal characteristics and family atmosphere among the various types of family-campers. Campers with different specialization styles showed significant differences in their sex, age, occupation, average household income, family life cycle, club involvement, style to stay over, and living area. The specialized styles of family campers also indicated significant differences in their family atmosphere. Subsequently, evidence was presented to show that the higher levels of specialization, the more harmonious on family atmosphere. The results were suggested to be useful references for the managerial sectors, camping supplies industries, and camping clubs when setting up their managerial strategies.
