This paper explores the development of industrial design and human factors integration, and studies the shift from "ergonomic design" to "cultural ergonomics" of Taiwan design development in the past decades. Based on case studies, it intends to study the research and context from ergonomic design to cultural ergonomics in Taiwan. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to explore the design development and analyze cross-cultural design of Taiwan, and to provide an approach for applying cultural ergonomics. The results of this study illustrate the interwoven experience of ergonomic design and cultural ergonomics in Taiwan design development, and provide a framework for looking at cross-cultural design for the future.
