趙汀陽在《中國哲學的身份疑案》一文中對當前漢語西方哲學研究提出了較多"復述"、較少"意義續篇"書寫的批評。在接受這個批評并承認書寫"意義續篇"是漢語西方哲學研究的最終旨歸的前提下,本文嘗試論證,考慮到西方哲學在特定歷史條件下批量引入中國且研究時間較短、與本源文化差距較大等現實因素,尤其考慮到趙汀陽提出的"當代性"概念,在當代中國哲學知識體系建設當中,作為"學問"的西方哲學研究仍有其不可忽視的建設性意義,在西方哲學著作的文本轉化、基礎研究、正本清源等方面,學界仍有大量工作需要完成。作為"學問"的西方哲學建設是書寫"意義續篇"的前提,更是中西哲學在未來共同創制一種"新概念的哲學"的保證。本文對趙汀陽對哲學史概念的質疑和"哲學之城"的構想也做了簡要回應。

In his paper "The Disputed Recognition of Chinese Philosophies",Zhao Tingyang launches a critique of Western philosophical research in China insofar as it "re-narrates"more than it "develops new significance",which is no doubt the case. However,by taking historical factors such as the introduction of Western philosophy into consideration,and especially by applying Zhao Tingyang’s conception of "contemporariness",this paper argues that in the current situation,the "scholarship"aspect of Western philosophical research is not only inevitable but also significant to contemporary Chinese philosophies. In certain aspects of translating philosophical works into Chinese,carrying out fundamental research,and making corrections and revisions,there is lots of work to do. Only when we can have a better understanding of Western philosophy can"developing new significance"and furthermore "creating a new concept of philosophy"be possible. This paper also discusses the concept of the history of philosophy as well as opportunities for philosophy in the future.
