In this study, we investigated the influence employee’s experience social under-mining exerted on work engagement. The sample comprised 175 full-time employees working in various industries in Taiwan. Data were collected twice, once at an initial collection, and again after 2 months. We examined employee’s experience social un-dermining, workplace friendship (measured at Time 1), and work engagement (measured at Time 2). The results indicated that social undermining reduced the work engagement of employees, and workplace friendship mediated social undermining and work engagement. Finally, we discussed the theoretical and practical implications of using employee’s experience social undermining to predict work engagement.
