The main purpose of this study was to explore the implementation of homebound education for students with disabilities in Hualien elementary schools .Data were collected by visiting 7 teachers and 20 students’ parents of homebound education in Hualien country. Semi-structured interview guidelines were designed by the researchers for this study . The collected data were analyzed using mean, percentage and treated by qualitative research method. The main findings include:(1) The most needed assistances in homebound education were the curriculum and the medical teams.(2) The teachers were bothered by the deficiency of professional capacity. The help and counseling from teams of professional experts were in need.(3) The teachers hoped to attend the training courses given by special education professionals and medical teams. (4) The teachers in general agreed that the parents needed more understanding on their children’s physical and psychological needs and information about special education. (5) Parents suggested medical rehabilitation to be most important in the presence. Parents mentioned that information providing, transportation supporting and short term day care were needed. (6) Parents might need financial assistance, social security help, and the reimbursement in buying appliances. Based on the above findings, several suggestions were made for the homebound education and future research .
