This study is designed to research the problems caused by various versions of textbooks of the Nine Year Curriculum, which has been implemented since 2001. Through analysis of interview data, the major results are reached as follows: 1.The pressure of the junior high school students is being increased rather than decreased. 2.More and more pupils have gone to cram schools for extra learning. 3.The pupils have got to read more and more textbooks. 4.The textbooks have been so frequently replaced that certain contents are never taught, and that some contents have been taught repeatedly. 5.The time consumed by revising and censoring the textbooks can not possibly match the administrative procedure of most schools. 6.The depths of different versions of textbooks differ too much. 7.It is not practical to ask teachers to compile supplement teaching materials or to connect different stages of teaching. 8.There are too many mistakes in the teaching materials. 9.When students are transferred from one school to another, they will face a large gap resulting from different teaching materials used in the two schools. 10.There is no clear norm or standard for editing or censoring teaching materials. 11.The basic academic examination worry the students more than ever before. 12.There is sometimes no reasonable reciprocal relations between teaching and examination. 13.When junior high students enter senior high school, they could have difficulties in connecting their academic curriculum, because the connection of teaching materials between junior high and senior high is likely to be problematic. This article presents ten ways and nine suggestions to deal with the problems.
