Work stress is defined as anything that poses a challenge at work. Work stress may firstly influence physical and mental health, and eventually reduce productivity and thereby increase absenteeism and turnover rate of the employees. According to reviews from the literature, implementing 1-to-2 hours each time for 1-to-2 times per week of mild leisure-time physical activity may help to effectively cope with work stress. In the meantime, provision of better environment and opportunities for physical activities at the workplace could also alleviate the negative effects. In perspectives of workplace health promotion, strategic recommendations were proposed at the end for the employer and employee’s reference in managing stress at work.
